For a long time, I didn’t know how to sit still.
Not physically… but mentally.
I was always thinking about the next thing, fixing the next problem, trying to keep everything from falling apart. I got so used to living in survival mode that I didn’t even realize how heavy it had become.
It was just… normal.
Until one day, it wasn’t.
Lately, I’ve found myself craving a different kind of life.
A slower one.
A quieter one.
A softer one.
Not boring—just peaceful.
The kind of life where the kitchen gets cleaned at night, coffee is made the same way every morning, and your home actually feels like a place you can breathe in.
I’m Amelia.
I’m a wife, a mom to two adult daughters and a teenage son, and a Gigi. I live in a mobile home out in the country with my husband, and this little life we’ve built?
It might not look like much to some people…
but to me, it feels like everything.
Because this life didn’t come easy.
There were years where I felt stuck.
Years where I was just trying to make it through the day.
Years where I forgot what it felt like to actually enjoy my life.
And I don’t share that for sympathy—
I share it because I know I’m not the only one.
Somewhere along the way, I realized something:
I don’t want to live in survival mode forever.
I don’t want chaos to feel normal.
I don’t want to always feel behind, overwhelmed, or disconnected from my own life.
I want peace.
And not the kind you wait for someday…
the kind you start creating right where you are.
That’s what Simply Rooted is.
It’s me learning how to build a life that feels steady and safe.
It’s decorating my home in a way that makes me happy—even if it’s early or imperfect.
It’s finding joy in small, everyday moments again.
It’s choosing a slower life… on purpose.
You’ll see a little bit of everything here—
Home decor.
DIY projects.
Day-to-day life.
And the real, unfiltered moments in between.
Nothing curated to perfection.
Nothing fake.
Just real life… as I’m learning to live it.
If you’ve ever felt stuck… overwhelmed… or like you lost yourself somewhere along the way—
I hope this space feels like a place you can land.
If you’re learning to slow down too… you’re in the right place.
